Red Wings Place Franzen on Injured Reserve
The Detroit Red Wings placed forward Johan Franzen on the injured reserve with an upper-body injury. Franzen, 35, has seven goals, 15 assists, and 22 points in 33 games this season. To take his place on the roster, the Red Wings called up forward Teemu Pulkkinen from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League. Pulkkinen, 23, made his NHL debut with the Red Wings in the 2013-14 season. In three games, he did not register any goals, assists, or points.
