Islanders Make Four Trades
The New York Islanders acquired goaltender Michal Neuvirth from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for goaltender Chad Johnson and a 2016 third-round pick. Neuvirth, 26, has a record of (6-17-3) in 27 games this season. Johnson, 28, has a record of (8-8-1) in 19 games this season. The Islanders also acquired forward Tyler Kennedy from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2015 seventh-round pick. Kennedy, 28, has four goals, five assists, and nine points in 25 games this season. The Islanders obtained forward Dustin Jeffrey from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for forward Cory Conacher. Jeffrey, 27, has played in 124 career games for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Dallas Stars. He has 17 goals, 14 assists, and 31 points in his career. Conacher, 25, has one goal, two assists, and three points in 15 games this season. Finally, the Islanders acquired forward Mark Louis from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for goaltender David Leggio. Louis, 27, has yet to appear in an NHL game. Leggio, 30, has also not seen any NHL action.
