Ducks to Retire Selanne's Number
Teemu Selanne
The Anaheim Ducks will retire #8, which was worn by NHL great Teemu Selanne, on Sunday during a pre-game ceremony before the game against the Winnipeg Jets. Selanne, 44, played in 1,451 career games for the Winnipeg Jets, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, and Colorado Avalanche. In his career, he recorded 684 goals, 773 assists, and 1,457 points. He won many awards in his NHL career including the Stanley Cup, which he helped the Ducks win in the 2006-07 season. Selanne was one of the game's greatest players in recent years. He is a player that I took a lot of interest in because not only is he a great player, but he is a great person off the ice. This is well deserved for Teemu Selanne. Congratulations and good luck in your future endeavors, Teemu!
