Flames Activate Two, Send Down Two
The Calgary Flames activated forward Mikael Backlund and defenseman Ladislav Smid from the injured reserve. Backlund, 25, has one goal, three assists, and four points in 11 games this season. Smid, 28, has no goals, one assist, and one point in 28 games this season. To make room, the Flames sent down forward Markus Granlund and defenseman Corey Potter. Granlund, 21, has five goals, eight assists, and 13 points in 29 games this season. Potter, 31, did not appear in any games for the Flames this season. He has played in 123 career games for the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, and Boston Bruins. He has eight goals, 24 assists, and 32 points in his NHL career.
