Oilers Fire Eakins
The Edmonton Oilers fired head coach Dallas Eakins. The struggling Oilers have gone (1-11-4) since winning two games in early November. In only his second season as the Oilers' head coach, the Oilers have gone (36-63-14). Craig MacTavish will take over as head coach on a temporary basis. Todd Nelson, who is the coach for the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League, will join the Oilers coaching staff as either an assistant or associate coach.
