Devils Name John Hynes as Head Coach
The New Jersey Devils hired John Hynes as their head coach. Hynes, 40, previously served as the head coach of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins. In five seasons as head coach of the WBS Penguins, he compiled a record of (231-126-27) with five trips to the Calder Cup Playoffs. He replaces Adam Oates and Scott Stevens, who had been named co-head coaches after Peter DeBoer was fired.
