Avalanche, Coyotes Swap Defensemen

The Colorado Avalanche acquired defenseman Brandon Gormley from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for the negotiating rights to defenseman Stefan Elliott. Gormley, 23, has played in 32 career games for the Coyotes. He has two goals, two assists, and four points in his career. Elliott, 24, has played in 63 career games for the Avalanche. He has six goals, 12 assists, and 18 points in his career.
