Raffi Torres Suspended
San Jose Sharks' forward Raffi Torres has been suspended for 41 games due to an illegal check to the head of Anaheim Ducks' forward Jakob Silfverberg. The incident occurred at 12:45 of the first period in a preseason game between the Sharks and Ducks on October 3. Torres received a match penalty as a result. He will forfeit $440,860.29. Torres, 33, has played in 635 career games for the Islanders, Oilers, Blue Jackets, Sabres, Canucks, Coyotes, and Sharks. He has 137 goals, 123 assists, and 260 points in his career.
